Eldar Mamedov

Eldar Mamedov is the General Director of KAZ Minerals Management and is responsible for Government Relations, Legal, Procurement and Administration. He began his career with the Group in 1991 as an electrical specialist in Zhezkazgan. In 1992 he was assigned by the company to pursue a Law degree at Karaganda State University. Upon completion of his degree, Eldar undertook a banking internship at one of the leading banks in Kazakhstan. In 1996 he resumed his work in the Group as a legal adviser at Zhezkazgantsvetmet and joined the executive management team at Kazakhmys Corporation LLC, the Group’s main copper subsidiary prior to the Restructuring, in 2000. In 2007 he was appointed Head of Legal for Kazakhmys PLC. A Kazakhstan trained lawyer, Eldar also holds an MBA from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, and has worked extensively with the Kazakhstan Government on the development of tax, subsoil use and financial market laws and regulations.
