Alun Bowen

Experience

Alun’s 37-year career at KPMG, as an auditor and advisor, spanned London, Sydney, Cardiff, Hong Kong and Almaty. His roles included Senior Partner of KPMG Wales, leader of KPMG’s Global Sustainability Practice and Managing Partner of KPMG Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

He is a non-executive director and chair of the audit and risk committee of Transport for Wales and a member of its major projects committee. Until 2 March 2022, Alun was chair of the audit committee of Severstal, one of Russia’s largest fully integrated steel producers.

Alun is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has a degree in Metallurgy and Material Science from Trinity College, Cambridge.
